The school board of Leaguetown High School is holding an emergency meeting on Friday, February 6, to vote on renting computers. The system had been hacked, and several teachers lost files, including tests and grades.
The yearbook party this year is supposed to be on May 29. For 22 years, The school has sponsored a “Yearbook Day,” which is essentially a senior signing party, the day the yearbook arrives.
The yearbook class has a deadline for the 48-pages on February 27. The yearbook advisor, Rodney Stephens, asked to rent computers for his class to finish because the students are not allowed to use the school’s computers.
“If the board doesn’t approve the $500 expenditure, I am not sure what we will do,” says Rodney Stephens the yearbook adviser. “I am hoping for the best and crossing my fingers.”
The yearbook class was warned by their representative that if they did not make their deadline that the yearbook may not come out before summer.
“This year we pushed our final yearbook deadline back as far as we could to add more coverage to the book,” says Alexis Zavia the the editor of the yearbook. “In fact, before this computer hacking problem, we were ahead of schedule.”
It would be weird if the seniors did not get to have their friends sign their yearbooks before they go off to college. Some of the students are probably going to go out of state for college.
“We have to get our yearbooks before school is out. Yearbook Day is one of the highlights of senior year,” said Senior Reggie White. “Yearbook day is more popular than prom.”
Good lead way to get the important info out first. The quotes are good but you could explain more on some of them.
